In a universe of glamour, glitz, and social media judgment, even the slightest variation in a celebrity’s life can provoke a deluge of guesses. And for actor Yuvika Chaudhary, that deluge came last year when speculation regarding a possible breakup from husband Prince Narula first emerged online.
Although the couple did not respond to the rumors publicly then, Yuvika has now decided to speak about how that experience impacted her emotionally, mentally, and personally. In an open conversation with the Hindi Rush podcast, she shared that the rumors caught hold when she was pregnant—and that rather than fighting hearsay, she decided to concentrate on what really mattered: her child and her own health.
“I Didn’t Want To Feed The Fire”
Yuvika described how, when she was pregnant, she decided to live with her mother, a common practice in Indian families, particularly while being pregnant. But her temporary stay sparked rumors on the internet, with many speculating that the couple had broken up.
“Because I was pregnant, I did not want to give so much significance to those rumors,” she told the press. “I decided to respond quietly and did not make a scene. I figured if I caused a scene, things would get worse. But I did not know that it would nonetheless grow worse regardless.”
She said her own silence was of public interest as well. “That ignorance oppressed me,” she admitted. “I knew that if I had cried out at the time, it might have made things worse, so I kept quiet.”
For Yuvika, this time wasn’t something about the public eye. It was about the very private journey that she was on as a pregnant woman. “The time I spent with my pregnancy would never return. So, I ignored everything. But it wasn’t easy,” she continued.
“Your Pain Is Yours Alone”
What ensued was a period of introspection and emotional development. Yuvika acknowledged that the pregnancy affected not only her body, but her emotions—and that it taught her one of life’s most difficult lessons: no matter how much help you have, there are portions of the path you have to walk alone.
“The things that are occurring in your body when you’re pregnant are some things no one really knows,” she explained. “I discovered that your hurt is yours. No amount of sharing it can hurt any less.”
Rather than telling the world the reasons behind her decisions, she constructed a silent, protective shield around herself. “I needed to concentrate on my life, my baby, and recovering from my body. I needed to become strong enough to care for my child. So, I thought it’s better not to say anything or share my issues with anyone. I like to have my problems to myself instead of explaining or justifying them to other people.”
Prince Narula’s Silent Support
In contrast to the rumors, Yuvika stressed that Prince Narula, her husband and long-term companion, was indeed there and supportive every step of the way.
“He was a great support,” she revealed. “Life was obviously busy, but as a couple, we had to be understanding. There were misunderstandings because that phase naturally involved some confusion. But I knew it was just a phase and why it was occurring.”
She pointed out how pregnancy involves extreme emotional shifts—joy, fear, frustration, and vulnerability—all of which can affect relationships. “Sometimes you’re happy, sometimes you’re sad, and sometimes you just want your partner right next to you. He did whatever he could to be there for me,” she said.
As Yuvika mentions, both of them handled the situation like adults. “It helps to see both sides. These stages come and go but at the end of the day what is most important is that a child is on the way.”
“Not A Sin To Stay With My Mom”
Yuvika also clarified the reasoning behind staying at her maternal home during pregnancy, which many mistook as a sign of trouble in her marriage.
“At home, there was a lot of interior work going on. Prince had always wanted a bigger home where the baby could grow up,” she said. “So when my pregnancy happened, the renovation work also began. It was a busy time.”
She added, “I moved to my mother’s place because when you are pregnant, you require a lot of love and care. Prince had either to work or stay with me, and he thought it was better for me to be with my mom, where I would receive all the care I could get. Later on, he also shifted there for a while.”
For Yuvika, the relocation wasn’t practical—it was personal. “Caring for the house, shoots, and all that was a lot of work. And I don’t think it’s a sin for a woman to live with her parents when pregnant; everyone does it. But people who didn’t get this made it a point.”
No Justifications, Just Peace
One of the strongest things Yuvika ever said was that she chose not to explain her life to anyone. “I was adamant that I wasn’t going to justify myself or pay attention to these things. I just wanted to concentrate on the baby,” she said.
In a world always asking for explanations, her silence is a lesson in forsaking approval for peace. As she now accepts motherhood and a new phase of life, Yuvika Chaudhary is a reminder that all stories don’t have to be explained—some only have to be lived.
