Javelin superstar Neeraj Chopra surprised fans and the sporting world by announcing his marriage to tennis player Himani Mor. The couple got married a few days back in a private ceremony, and it is a new chapter for them.
The 27-year-old Olympic gold medalist, who won India’s first-ever gold in javelin at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, broke the news with his followers on social media. Chopra expressed gratitude and excitement towards the new chapter of his life. He writes, “Started a new chapter of my life with my family. Grateful for every blessing that brought us to this moment together. Bound by love, happily ever after.” He uploaded pictures from an intimate ceremony showcasing the couple’s joy.
Himani Mor, the 25-year-old tennis player from Sonipat, Haryana, has been a competitive athlete, participating at both national and international levels. She was part of the 2017 World University Games in Taipei and won a gold medal at the World Junior Tennis Championship in Malaysia in 2016. Mor, currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Sports Management at Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire, is also an alumnus of Miranda House in Delhi, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Physical Education.

Chopra, who recently won the silver medal at Paris 2024 Olympics to add it to his already won gold from Tokyo 2020, has always been on the field. Following his historic win at the Olympic games, Chopra began training with Czech javelin legend Jan Zelezny to try and win some more accolades for himself on the international field. Chopra’s success has made him a household name not only in India but around the world.
Himani Mor, with the career-best national singles ranking of 42 and a doubles ranking of 27 in 2018, has made a consistent progression from one year to another in the Indian tennis circuit. The resume further lists her as an assistant coach for women’s tennis at Amherst College in Massachusetts.
