The makers of Salman Khan’s upcoming film Sikandar have postponed the release of the teaser to December 28, following the unfortunate passing of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on December 26. Singh, aged 92, was a revered leader, and the decision to delay the teaser was made as a mark of respect for his legacy.
Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, the production house behind Sikandar, has released an official statement on their Instagram page stating that the teaser is releasing on 28th December at 11:07 AM. The statement says, “In light of the passing of our esteemed former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Ji, we regret to announce that the release of the Sikandar teaser has been postponed to 28th December at 11:07 AM.”
Initially, the teaser was set to release on December 27, which happens to be Salman Khan’s 59th birthday. However, with the mourning period going on for the late leader, the makers decided to reschedule the launch. Sikandar is directed by AR Murugadoss and also features Rashmika Mandanna in a prominent role. The film is the first project between Salman Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala since Kick in 2014.
Rashmika Mandanna, who is making her Bollywood debut in a commercial film with Sikandar, spoke about her experience of working with Salman Khan. She described the experience as “nerve-wracking,” while acknowledging the immense star power of Salman Khan. She added, “This is the first commercial Bollywood film that I will be doing, and I have never done it before.”
According to a source close to the production, Sikandar is one of the most eagerly anticipated films of 2025. The teaser’s release is part of a larger marketing strategy, which is set to kick off the promotional campaign for the film leading up to its highly awaited release during Eid 2025, in March. The source further added that Sajid Nadiadwala has big plans for the film, with the release of assets including songs and a theatrical trailer to drive up to its launch date.
With fans eagerly looking for more updates, delay of the teaser only serves the purpose of adding to the eagerness of this high-profile film. The makers are making sure that Sikandar will be one of the major cinematic events of 2025.
